SPRING FIELD DAY 2006

Spring Field Day was held on April 15th. On one of the nicest days so far this year, the 80-degree temperatures and lots of sunshine helped us get the field in great shape for the summer flying season.

With the help of Bob Nyland and his son, Brayton (John Nyland’s son and grandson), we extended the power line to the new barn and shelter, and installed light fixtures. We now have power and lights over the entire area, and a new generator to provide the juice. Sun Electric, Bob’s employer, donated all of the materials, and Bob donated his time and energy. A big thanks to Bob and Brayton!!

Bob Groves brought his tractor and roller and rolled the entire field in less than two hours.

We also raked and seeded some bare areas, rolled the entire field, installed a step at the new barn doorway, straightened the cement parking curbs, took down the plastic on the old shelter, cleaned out the new barn, repainted the taxiway centerline and hold markings, and treated all of the wood benches and tables.
