The Screaming Eagles hosted the area's annual City Wide Fun-Fly this year.  30 pilots competed from 4 area clubs. The weather at the start of the day was as good as I have seen for awhile. Winds were light and out of the west right down the runway. That was not to last, by the start of the contest the wind was starting to pick up. The wind began to shift, now coming out of the northwest and gusting around 10 to 15 mph and swirling between those 10ft. walls of corn. That wind made the best pilot feel like he had never flown these events before. Except for Jon Spaulding and Tyler Collins, they flew like this was the calmest day they have ever had. I was humbled by there skills. They were a great addition to our team. I want to thank all who helped made the day a success. Our pilots were:

Mike Karnes stepped up to the plate and took the reins on this event and made it the great event that it turned out to be.  A special thanks goes out to Mike and his support staff.  Without their help, this would not have run as smooth as it did.

All in all the day went off without to many casualties. All 30 pilots took their planes home except one. Dennis Gray from the east side club went home with only an elevator half. The plane eating tree is still trying to digest those servos, battery and engine.
